The school serves a diverse student body from various socio-economic backgrounds, including a significant Aboriginal population (36 Aboriginal students); our school is a melting pot of cultures and experiences. With 150 students spread across 6 mainstream classes and 2 Support classes, with the third operational at the start of 2025.  

Our dedicated staff, including the principal, assistant principals, teachers, support personnel, and community partners, work collaboratively to create a nurturing and supportive environment. We have and we prioritise equity and inclusion in all aspects of our educational approach. Through partnerships with the Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) and the Muloobinbah Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (LAECG), we ensure that our school community actively participates in and contributes to our educational aspirations.

General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

Specific Selection Criteria

In addition to the general selection criteria

1. Approval in teaching special education and/or experience teaching students with disabilities, including students with intellectual disabilities, students with autism and emotional disturbance. 

2. Demonstrated ability to lead in differentiating the curriculum and implement individualised learning programs that maximise student engagement, focusing on improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for all students.

3. Leadership and Experience dealing with multiple and complex challenging behaviours and demonstrated ability to support and lead staff to plan for and manage these behaviours.

4.  Exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills and demonstrated capacity to work as an effective leader of collaborative school teams building inclusive, trusting relationships with students, parents, staff, external agencies and the wider community.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
