Position Information
Rydalmere Public School and Preschool, established in 1891, boasts large, expansive grounds in the heart of Parramatta. Our students thrive in a positive learning environment, where the values of safety and respect enable our students to be engaged learners and to achieve their true sense of belonging, from Preschool to Year 6. The school population sits at 182, comprising of K-6 students in our primary classrooms and up to 20 preschool children each day. The preschool runs two programs each week, servicing a total of 40 preschool children weekly. 64% of our students come from language backgrounds other than English and 0.3% of our students are from an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Island background. Our staff are passionate, enthusiastic and resilient. They are committed to our students, families and community through strong home, school and community partnerships.

Specific Selection Criteria
- In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with demonstrated capacity to effectively balance the dual roles of exemplary classroom teacher with the complex responsibilities of a leadership role, with proven ability to lead staff in the enhancement of curriculum development and professional learning with a focus on school priorities and targets.
- Demonstrated evidence of effective leadership in leading and managing whole school wellbeing programs, through positively contributing to whole school wellbeing processes so that students can connect, succeed, thrive and learn.
- Proven ability to strategically and collaboratively lead data driven pedagogical change and professional learning that embeds quality teaching and high expectations, with a focus on improving student learning outcomes and high-quality literacy and numeracy practices, with a focus on explicit teaching.
- A visible leader with the ability to demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and outstanding interpersonal skills to initiate, mentor, build and strengthen positive partnerships with students, parents, staff and the wider community.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
