Position Information
Riverstone Public School is a growing school located in Western Sydney on Dharug land with a student population of approximately 680 students. This includes 5 Inclusive Classes and a Preschool. Students come from a wide range of backgrounds with 15% of students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples and 54% from an English as an Additional Language or Dialect background. Our dedicated, supportive staff demonstrate a wide variety of expertise and talents to help students learn and grow. Our grounds are spacious and our classrooms are well resourced to support students in learning and at play. General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
Specific Selection Criteria
1. In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary; Demonstrated ability to balance exemplary classroom practice and school leadership responsibilities with a proven capacity to lead staff across K-6 in the implementation of evidenced-based, explicit teaching practices.
2. Proven ability to enhance a safe, supportive and productive school culture by fostering authentic connections with students, staff and the community, and by contributing to wellbeing initiatives that enable all students to thrive.
3. A visible, approachable leader who seeks and inspires professional growth, proudly promotes and supports Public Education, and demonstrates the capacity to collaboratively drive strategic improvement.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
