Position Information
Richmond North Public School is located in the semi-rural, north-western fringe of Sydney and caters for 310 students drawn from a range of socio-economic backgrounds. Our diverse student population includes 40 students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, as well as a steadily increasing number of students from English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) backgrounds.
The school nurtures positive educational experiences in highly engaging learning environments. We take pride in our outstanding teachers, support personnel and administrative staff who work closely with parents and the wider community to offer the best education to our students.
Our school priorities include a strong focus on Explicit Instruction in literacy and numeracy, teacher collaborative planning and building strong community connections. Our students demonstrate and build skills through a range of extra-curricular activities including public speaking, performance groups and sport opportunities as well as through innovative programs such as our School Media project and Kitchen Garden project. Student wellbeing initiatives form a strong foundation at Richmond North, with our Habits of Character and Habits of Scholarship underpinning everything we do.

Specific Selection Criteria
1. Demonstrated capacity to work as part of a dynamic leadership team, balancing exemplary classroom practice with the complexities of a leadership role.
2. A visible, approachable leader with proven capability to build the capacity of teachers to effectively deliver evidence-based explicit teaching and learning programs within a context of high expectations.
3. Proven ability to lead and contribute to whole school improvement initiatives with a focus on HPGE and integrating technology, which positively impacts on student learning outcomes.
4. Demonstrated experience in fostering an inclusive school culture for a diverse range of learners, including students who identify as Aboriginal and students with complex needs.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
