About this job
Position Information
North Ryde Public School is situated in northwest Sydney on the lands of the Wallumedegal people, and has an enrolment of 309 students, of which 65% are from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. It has an outstanding tradition of academic excellence. Staff are highly collaborative and committed to maximising wellbeing and academic outcomes for all students. The students enjoy a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment. Student learning is enhanced by utilising the latest technologies in all curriculum areas. As a school community, we have identified two strategic directions for the School Excellence Plan in which we prioritise;
- Explicit teaching
- Strong partnerships with students, staff, parents and the community
The school is highly regarded in the community for its strong academic focus where there are high expectations for every student to achieve their best. Teaching and learning programs embed evidence-informed practices and explicit teaching. Our culture of excellence ensures that every student is provided with meaningful opportunities to thrive academically, socially and physically.
Special focus programs include English language support for EAL/D students, and targeted literacy and numeracy enhancement.
The students succeed in an environment which offers a wide range of opportunities such as school bands, public speaking, choirs, dance, Physical Education and High Potential Gifted Education programs. Student wellbeing initiatives incorporate the expectations of Confidence, Organisation, Persistence, Resilience and Getting Along. The North Ryde Public School Behaviour Support and Management Plan underpins our approach to student engagement and wellbeing.
North Ryde Public School has a strong and dedicated P&C, with active support from parents and the community. We value positive, respectful relationships that connect students, staff, and families. Parents and carers are encouraged to be involved and are welcomed as partners in their child's education. Our community holds high expectations for students to become successful, future-focused learners. We are a welcoming school that builds strong partnerships with families and the wider community.
