Position Information

Mount Annan Public School is located between Camden and Campbelltown, within walking distance to the Australian Botanic Gardens in Mount Annan. The school has an enrolment of 641 students and is comprised of 26 mainstream classes and four support classes. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island students make up 7.49 % of the student population and 26.8 % of the students have a language background other than English. General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary, combined with demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic leadership team and effectively balance the dual roles of exemplary classroom teacher and the complex responsibilities of the Assistant Principal role.

Proven ability to strengthen a dynamic and responsive school-wide approach to student inclusion, wellbeing, attendance and behaviour management processes enabling every student to connect, succeed, and thrive.

An approachable and visible leader with the ability to demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and outstanding interpersonal skills to enhance school culture and strengthen positive partnerships with all stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to lead, model, and implement data-driven, evidence-based practices, catering to diverse student abilities, while building capacity, managing performance, and fostering collective efficacy within teams to ensure improvement in student outcomes.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
