Position Information

Marulan Public School is a dynamic growing school located in the township of Marulan, servicing an area from Big Hill to Bungonia. It is highly regarded in the local community, and we are very proud of our positive and inclusive culture that fosters high expectations, where every child is known, valued and cared for. The current student population is 126 with 5 mainstream classes and a support MC class.12% of the students are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and the current Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) is 126.

The school’s wellbeing programs centre around Positive Behaviours for Learning and are underpinned by the URSTRONG relationships program and the Berry Street Education Model, trauma informed practices.

The teaching and support staff work cooperatively to ensure the needs of every student are met. The school has a rich history of involvement in sporting, educational and cultural opportunities in the local and broader education network. We have a dedicated P&C who coordinate and plan many events for the whole school community. 

General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.
1. An inspiring leader with emotional intelligence and the demonstrated ability to balance the dual role of an exemplary classroom teacher and Assistant Principal, working cohesively as part of an engaged and proactive leadership team.
2. Demonstrated ability to lead, model and implement evidence-based and data-driven practices to cater for the range in student abilities, including high potential and gifted education, with a focus on high expectations to ensure the continuous improvement of all student outcomes across the curriculum.
3. Proven ability to lead and manage whole-school operations and resources as well as the development of professional learning initiatives to support the implementation and evaluation of the school’s Strategic Improvement Plan.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
