King Park Public School acknowledges our Aboriginal connections to the Cabrogal People and is located on the land of the Darug Nation.
Our school was established in 1973 and comprises of 390 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 with five support classes for students with a disability. The school serves a diverse community with approximately 82% of whom are from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and 8 students of Aboriginal heritage.
The school is highly regarded in the community for its strong academic focus where there are high expectations for every student to achieve their best. The staff has a combination of early career and experienced teachers who are committed to an ethos of collaboration, professional learning and continuous school improvement. There is a strong focus on embedding evidence-informed literacy and numeracy practices, engaging with high impact professional learning, and building staff and leadership capacity. The school prides itself on a distributive leadership model that harnesses the expertise of all staff to provide rich and diverse learning opportunities for all students.
The students have a strong sense of belonging through their active involvement in the school house groups- Xylocopa (blue), Lapidarius (red), Cerana (yellow) and Amegilla (green). The school mascot 'Parker' plays a vital role in shaping a 'Strive for 5' attitude across all aspects of school life, including the school expectations, attendance and wellbeing. Parker promotes the school values of being kind, respectful, inclusive, resilient and courageous ensuring a positive school culture.
The school puts students at the centre of all learning experiences. There are various opportunities for participating in a wide range of extra-curricular activities including dance, choir, debating, public speaking, sport and Tournament of Minds (ToM).
The school has a proud history of sporting excellence which continues in partnership with Westfield Sports High School, providing a junior football program and Dance Company targeting high potential students.
King Park Public School benefits from a dedicated Parents and Citizens Association working in partnership with the school. The school is an integral part of the local community providing a venue for the weekend Community Language school and a local community church group. After hours karate, dance classes and soccer coaching groups also occur on school grounds and an OSHC (Out of School Hours Care) facility operates daily during the school term and in the school holidays.

General Selection Criteria
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with demonstrated capacity to effectively balance the dual roles of exemplary classroom teacher with the complex responsibilities of a leadership role, with proven ability to lead staff in the delivery of school priorities and targets.
A visible leader with the ability to demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and outstanding interpersonal skills to initiate, mentor, build and strengthen positive partnerships with students, parents, staff and the wider community.
Demonstrated capacity to strategically and collaboratively lead data driven assessment in the teaching learning cycle with a focus on improving student literacy and numeracy outcomes.
Demonstrated experience working as part of a dynamic leadership team, strategically planning and applying evidence-based and data-informed practices to drive continuous improvement with a focus on high expectations and differentiation for all students across the full range of abilities and backgrounds.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
