Position Information
Helensburgh Public School (471 enrolments, 19 Aboriginal students and 23 EAL/D students) is located in North Wollongong. The school improvement plan focuses on literacy, numeracy, student wellbeing, and leadership development. Quality Teaching Successful Students funds are used to release stage teams for literacy and numeracy professional development each week. Explicit teaching and differentiation are essential pedagogical focuses within the school improvement plan. The school is committed to strengthening a whole school approach to student wellbeing with a recent emphasis on developing consistent classroom management strategies and teaching social-emotional learning (Friendly Schools Program).
