Position Information

Dalmeny Public School is a vibrant, inclusive primary school located in South Western Sydney, serving 737 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 across 27 mainstream classes and 7 special education classes. The school fosters a culture of inclusion, respect, and community, encouraging collaboration among staff, students, and families to ensure a safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environment.

The school community is diverse, with students from 81 different countries speaking 59 languages. 74% of students have a language background other than English, and 3.4% of students identify as Aboriginal. General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and      learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff          and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary 
1.  Evidence of visible leadership that demonstrates strong emotional intelligence and outstanding interpersonal skills to              enhance school culture and strengthen positive partnerships with all stakeholders. 

2. Demonstrated ability to lead, model, and implement data-driven, evidence-based practices, catering to diverse student          abilities, while building capacity, managing performance, and fostering collective efficacy within teams to ensure                      improvement in student outcomes. 

3. Evidence of highly effective and collaborative leadership that builds whole school capacity to achieve the strategic                directions of the school.  

4.  Proven leadership capacity in managing effective behaviour strategies through the school’s wellbeing initiatives,                    attendance and learning support processes.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
