Salary Range: Commensurate with experience AP1 $149,763 - AP3 $157,119 gross per annum FTE +12.75% Super
Substantive Role: Permanent Teacher

Good Counsel Primary School
Good Counsel Catholic Primary School (GCPS), established in 1903, is located in the centre of Innisfail township at 96 Rankin Street. Innisfail is the largest business centre on the Cassowary Coast in Far North Queensland with a population of approximately 10,000. The picturesque township is situated at the junction of the North and South Johnstone Rivers, about five km from the coast and 90km south of Cairns which services a domestic and international airport.
GCP is the largest Primary School in the Innisfail District with a current cohort of 350 students. The school has two streams for each year level from Prep to Year 6. Our school offers a dynamic and engaging curriculum designed to inspire curiosity and a love of learning in every student.

About the Role
The Assistant Principal- Catholic Identity is responsible for providing creative and visionary leadership in promoting the Catholic ethos across all aspects of the school community. This role is central to implementing the Encounter catholic Identity Framework and embeding the pedagogical principals of Catholic Dialogue Schools within the school's culture and educational practices. In this capacity the AP/CI models the catholic ethos; leads faith formation; promotes social justice; fosters spiritual an religious development and leads wellbeing initiatives.

Work Requirements
- A strong demonstrated commitment to the values, vision and ethos of Catholic Education
- Professional qualifications in Education
- Demonstrated ability in Learning and Teaching
- Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to the wellbeing of members of the school community
- Skills for building community including facilitation, delegation and consultation
- Registered or eligible to register with Queensland College of Teachers
- Experience working with students who have diverse learning needs and those requiring learning support in a school setting.
- Capacity to understand and implement Duty of Care and Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
- Current driver’s licence;
- Promote child safety at all times
