Position Information

Bingara Central School is a K to 12 school that has a total enrolment of 159 students, 108 Primary and 51 Secondary, with 32 Aboriginal students in 2024. To meet the curriculum needs of students a variety of organisational structures have been developed which include vertical curriculum delivery, year based and stage based classes, supervised Distance Education, variety of Stage 5 elective choices and the delivery of TVET courses. The school is focused on improving student learning outcomes through the consistent application of quality teaching practices underpinned by whole-school, and targeted, teacher professional learning. Future focused skills, aiming to develop well informed, critical and creative thinkers with high resilience are supported through a whole school approach to wellbeing inclusive of the BCS GRIT Learning and Wellbeing Model. The school community is committed to a strong learning culture that prides itself on forming productive partnerships with parents and the wider community. In a diverse curriculum, there is a strong emphasis on quality teaching and the maintenance of high expectations across all areas of school life.

General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria:
1.      Approval to teach infants and/or primary with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of the senior executive team to strategically plan and lead initiatives, apply evidence-informed practice and monitor the implementation of the school's strategic directions.

2.      Demonstrated experience in leading a culture of high expectations, ability to identify areas of need, facilitate change and implement future focused professional development, building the capacity of individuals and teams and improving educational outcomes for all students.

3.      Demonstrates leadership qualities that calmly and effectively manage and respond to unexpected challenges. Experience in handling complex cases and supporting staff with their classroom practices and management to address student learning and behaviour.

4.      Demonstrated strong leadership, organisational and managerial skills to lead the implementation and evaluation of teaching and learning programs, inclusive of evidence based pedagogical approaches, curriculum implementation and effective assessment and reporting.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
