Position Information

Putney Public School is located in Ryde and currently has an enrolment of 312 students. Our school culture is one of continuous growth for all our students and teachers, as we work collaboratively with our parents and community, to provide evidence-based, innovative practices in our pursuit of school excellence.

General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
Specific Selection Criteria
1.In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with evidence of outstanding classroom practice, with an emphasis on implementing and leading quality literacy and numeracy programs, which reflect current research, to improve student outcomes and engagement
2.Demonstrated highly visible and inclusive leadership with the capacity to effectively balance a dual role with a proven ability to lead and support teachers of varying levels of expertise and experience.
3.Deep understanding of and capacity to facilitate and lead data driven decision making, including monitoring and evaluating school initiatives, to ensure the continuous improvement of student outcomes in literacy and numeracy 
4.Proven capacity to enhance whole school student wellbeing, engagement and agency through positive, inclusive and authentic relationships promoting reflective practices and high expectations.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 

Special Notes

This is a permanent part time position for 3 days per week 0.6FTE (Full-time equivalent).
