About the Role

As the Assistant Manager you will have responsibility for, but not limited to:

  • Supporting the strategic direction of the department for a range of infrastructure and program delivery related issues for schools and departmental owned assets in the relevant region.
  • Managing the financial resources allocated to support the service function and be accountable for their effective use.
  • Participate in a regional team providing a high-quality service in the formulation of innovative and workable solutions for infrastructure and program delivery related services to schools, regional centres and other educational centres as well as the wider community.

What You Need to Succeed

While there are no mandatory requirements for this position, key to your success in this role will be your ability to provide:

  • Effective communication, consultation and negotiation skills with a proven ability to lead others, meet client needs, represent the department and use these skills to foster and maintain mutually productive partnerships with team members and stakeholders in Central and Regional Offices, schools and other educational centres as well as the wider community.
  • Demonstrated high level analytical and problem-solving skills and have an understanding of project delivery and project management of construction related works.
  • Personal drive and integrity including the ability to proactively improve systems, services, policies, practices and processes to ensure that departmental objectives are achieved and to be accountable for the course of action taken to create this improvement.
