About the Role

You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

  • Assist with budgeting and financial procedures, point of sale and accommodation booking systems, multifaceted procedures and reporting modules, advice to managers and staff on a daily basis with regard to a variety of financial issues as they arise.
  • Update both Regional and Central office regarding finance and payroll issues and communicate with external organisations such as the Australian Tax Office (ATO) with regard to lodgement of Business Activity Statements (BAS).
  • Assist with amendments to, or develop and implement new, methods standards and procedures in accordance with legislative, policy and procedural requirements.
  • Undertake and be accountable for daily decision making in the area of accounts payable, purchasing and credit card management and inform the Finance Manager with regard to any high level decisions required.
  • Investigate account issues and cash variances, interpret and analyse complex payroll data with a view to presenting accurate cost centre breakdowns on a fortnightly basis.
  • Undertake substantial analytical and evaluation techniques to produce timely and accurate data.
  • Ensure that invoices are not only audit compliant but are allocated to the correct General Ledger code to ensure accurate monthly financial data is produced.
  • Utilise analytical skills to manage and reconcile the centres Corporate Credit Cards.
  • Provide advice to the reception and memberships teams in relation to banking and financial issues and issues surrounding the correct processing and receipting of point of sale funds.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities.
  • Provide administrative and support services to the centre including word processing, spread sheeting and database entry.

  • Supports productive working relationships -Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as an effective team member, including the ability to establish work priorities and meet determined deadlines and commitments.
  • Displays personal drive and integrity -Well developed numeric, reconciliation and clerical skills and the ability to understand and use computerised accounting systems as well as spreadsheet and word processing applications.
  • Communicates with influence -Demonstrated communication skills, including the ability to manage people and business, liaise and consult with internal and external clients and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues in a busy environment.
