Your Role:
The role contributes to the Department's strategic direction by leading major digital initiatives and emerging technologies, and by overseeing the delivery of secure, reliable and scalable digital platforms and services. Through a focus on innovation, customer-centred outcomes, strong governance and effective stewardship of ICT investment, the Assistant Director-General enables the department to deliver its education priorities and improve outcomes for Queensland students.
Your Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Lead a defined portfolio of digital, technology, governance and assurance functions.
- Oversee the co-design, delivery and sustainment of secure, scalable digital platforms and services.
- Champion innovation and the adoption of emerging technologies that enhance educational outcomes and organisational performance.
- Manage significant people, financial, contractual and operational responsibilities, including ICT investment stewardship.
- Strengthen governance, assurance, risk management, digital resilience and stakeholder confidence.
What We're Looking For:
- Demonstrated success in executive leadership roles within large, complex organisations.
- Demonstrated experience leading digital service delivery, technology-enabled transformation, governance and organisational performance.
- A proven ability to drive innovation, lead change and deliver strategic outcomes at scale.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influence and partnership-building capabilities, including stewardship of significant ICT investment.
- Commitment to the values of the Queensland public sector and service to the community.
