Pay: £160 - £200 per day (DOE)
Mon-Fri, Daily Hours: 8:00 - 16:00 Full-time / Term time only Chigwell, Essex
About the Role
We are seeking a creative, patient, and passionate Art Teacher to join our dedicated team in a specialist school setting in Chigwell. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about using art as a tool to engage, inspire, and support children and young people with Special Educational Needs.
You will play a key role in helping pupils express themselves creatively, build confidence, and develop their skills in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated art lessons suited to a range of SEN needsSupport pupils in developing creative, social, and emotional skills through artCreate a positive, nurturing classroom environment where all students feel valuedAdapt teaching methods and resources to meet individual learning needsWork collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staffMonitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback where appropriatePromote positive behaviour and wellbeing in line with school policiesEnsure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are always followedRequirements
A genuine passion for art and working with children with Special Educational NeedsPrevious experience working in an SEN setting (desirable but not essential)A patient, calm, and flexible approachStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to engage and motivate students of varying abilitiesRelevant teaching experience or art-based background (preferred)Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)Why Apply?
