About the Role

Veritas Education are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Kirklees to recruit a motivated and creative Art & Design Technology Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and high-quality lessons within a supportive department.

The successful candidate will have the ability to teach both Art and Design Technology, encouraging creativity, technical ability, and confidence in learners of varying abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Art and Design Technology in line with the national curriculum
  • Plan, prepare and assess students' work effectively to support progress and attainment
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports behaviour for learning
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN and EAL students
  • Contribute to departmental planning and the wider school community
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to pupils, staff, and parents

    • The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Art and/or Design Technology at KS3 and KS4
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for creative subjects
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to teaching
