About the Role  

Catholic Education, Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn (CECG) plays an integral role in education in the ACT and NSW, operating 56 Schools and nine Early Learning Centres (ELCs).

The ICT Applications and Information Manager oversees the development, implementation, and management of the organisation's ICT applications and information systems. This role ensures that technology solutions align with the company’s strategic goals, enhance operational efficiency, and meet business needs. The manager will lead a team of IT professionals and collaborate with various departments to support and optimise application systems, data management, and technology integration. 

The Catholic Education Office (CEO) provides corporate services to the CECG system of Schools and ELCs. These Service Areas include; Education and Performance Improvement, Catholic Identity, School and Family Services, Strategy and Special Projects, Finance and Infrastructure, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and People and Culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of enterprise applications and software solutions.
  • Manage the lifecycle of applications, including upgrades, maintenance, and support.
  • Ensure that applications meet business requirements, performance standards, and compliance regulations.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce standards for quality documentation related to data systems and applications, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and accessibility.
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the organisation's management information systems (MIS) to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure that all data systems, including databases, applications, and reporting tools, meet the organisation’s needs and integrate effectively with other business functions.
  • Lead and manage the Data and Applications team, providing direction, mentorship, and support to team members.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in an Information Systems or Developer role.
  • Experience leading an ICT Team.
  • Working with Children’s registrations in NSW and ACT (WWCC and WWVP).

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute ICT application and information strategies aligned with organisational IT and business goals.
  2. Extensive experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of enterprise applications, with a proven ability to manage the complete lifecycle of applications.
  3. Proven ability to oversee the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of management information systems (MIS) to ensure optimal performance and effective integration with other business functions.
  4. Experience in managing team workflows, setting priorities, and ensuring the timely delivery of tasks and projects while fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  5. Ability to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables in alignment with stakeholder needs.
  6. Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain, and enforce standards for high-quality documentation, including system documentation, user manuals, technical specifications, and data flow diagrams.
  7. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
