About Us:
St George State High School (SGSHS) is an Agricultural School of Excellence which provides secondary schooling for students residing in the Balonne Shire in South West Queensland. Agriculture is the primary industry in the area and we have embed agriculture across our curriuculum. We run agricultural camps for students from across Australia.
About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Assist in the preparation, setup, and maintenance of agricultural learning environments, including crops, livestock, and machinery.
- Provide hands-on support for students and teachers during practical agricultural lessons and fieldwork.
- Support the coordination and delivery of agricultural camps, excursions, and industry engagement programs.
- Provide demonstrations and guidance to students in agricultural practices, including animal husbandry, plant cultivation, and sustainable farming techniques.
- Maintain and repair fences, animal enclosures, irrigation systems, and farm structures.
- Maintain accurate records of farm operations, including livestock and crop management logs, equipment maintenance schedules, and safety compliance documentation.
- Provide support with administrative tasks such as scheduling, resource planning, and community engagement activities.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with local agricultural businesses, industry groups, and community stakeholders.
