About William State High School

Established in 1991, William Ross has provided the education thousands of students have needed to begin their careers or pursue further education. Graduates have access to a variety of post-schooling pathways including university, further training or the workforce. We are situated in Annandale, on the south side of Townsville, North Queensland. The school is well serviced by public transport. Our dedicated staff support and guide our students to achieve success through a holistic approach to education.

About the Role

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Working within a small team to provide a high level of general administrative support across multiple faculties
  • Proficient in word processing, data base, data entry and spread sheet documents
  • Creating school resources, generating correspondence and communications to students and families
  • Supporting HODs to scan and upload student assessment data
  • Recording student details and contacts on relevant systems
  • Providing information and advice in line with school policies and/or Principal directives
  • Interpreting departmental policies, guidelines and directives, ensuring legislative and procedural requirements are met
  • High level professionalism and attention to detail

Desired skills and experience;

  • Experience with OneSchool and other DoE platforms preferred
  • Proven ability to work independently and harmoniously within a team environment to achieve quality outcomes
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptive
  • Demonstrated high level of communication skills
  • Ability to use professional discretion
