About the School

Camira State School was established in 1974 and has been proudly providing an education for students from Camira and surrounding suburbs for over forty years.  Camira is a suburb of Ipswich City located on the western side of Brisbane and approximately 9km East of the Ipswich City centre.

Camira State School is a co-educational school with approximately 650 students currently enrolled across 27 classes from the Preparatory Year to Year 6. We also offer a Pre-Prep Program designed to ease the transition in to Primary Education.

About the Role

As the Administration Officer, you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of administration support to the Principal, Business Manager and staff. You will perform a range of activities to ensure a high level of communication is maintained; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Front office reception
  • Production of documents making use of Microsoft Office application
  • Communication with families and visitors via telephone, email and text messaging services
  • Record keeping through the OneSchool records
  • General office tasks; filing, photocopying, processing goods received, processing mail, stationery management
  • Attendance and Absence Procedures; SMS generation and roll marking follow up
  • Management of excursions and incursion via QParents platform
  • Managing the Parent Teacher online booking system
  • Data entry
