About Walkervale State School

Walkervale State School is a state primary school located in Bundaberg, Queensland. The school community mainly draws on students from local residential areas as well as from across Bundaberg. Our school caters for students in Prep to Year 6. We also offer an Early Childhood Develop Program for pre-prep children. Our school believes in its vision that 'Together we Achieve the Extraordinary'. The school motto encourages all students to realise their potential in academic, cultural and sporting pursuits. About the Role

As an Administration Officer you will be part of a team contributing in the management of Students, providing executive support, accounts receivable and general administration duties, the position will report to the Business Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Autonomy to perform a variety of day to day administrative and support services that are routine in nature and directed by the Principal or the Business Manager.
  • Undertake routine activities including reception (telephone and counter enquiries), arranging appointments, correspondence and general administration, maintaining school records, such as incident reports, student admissions, enrolments and departures, processing incoming and outgoing mail and email, and once approved, ordering and arranging student transport for sport excursions, trips and other school activities.
  • Assist with human resources tasks for school support staff, including printing of timesheets, leave applications and rosters. Perform a variety of other administrative or support services for school support staff, including printing of timesheets, leave applications and rosters, assisting with arranging approved relief for school support staff as directed.

About You

To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate the following skills and qualities;

  • High level of communication skills, exhibiting professionalism, confidentiality and the ability to work with all members of the school and community.
  • Ability to prioritise and multi task.
  • Attention to detail and high-level accuracy.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    Experience in OneSchool (including Agresso and QParents) is highly desirable.
  • First aid and medication administration as required.
