About our School:
Redland District Special School, located in Thornlands near beautiful Moreton Bay and approximately 40 minutes from Brisbane, provides specialised education programs for students with disabilities from birth through to 17 years of age. The school offers a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment with tailored programs across Early Years, Primary, Junior Secondary, and Senior Secondary. Students access a differentiated Australian Curriculum supported by personalised learning plans, small class settings, and dedicated teacher aide support. The school caters for students with intellectual disabilities and additional needs, including autism and physical or sensory impairments, while providing specialist services such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy, guidance, and nursing support to enhance student learning and wellbeing. About the Role:
- Acting as the first point of contact for parents and community members, providing a welcoming and professional presence.
- Performing routine administrative tasks, including managing reception, handling correspondence, and maintaining school records.
- Assisting with student management tasks such as enrolments, attendance records, and communication with parents.
- Managing day-to-day financial matters, including processing payments, reconciling invoices, and maintaining financial records.
- This role is ideal for a proactive and organised individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about supporting the education of students with disabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Principal and Business Manager.
- Manage reception, phone enquiries, appointments, correspondence, and general office administration.
- Maintain student records, enrolments, attendance, and parent communication.
- Support staff administration including timesheets, leave, rosters, and relief arrangements.
- Process financial transactions, payments, invoices, banking, and financial records.
- Prepare reports, minutes, newsletters, forms, and school documentation.
- Coordinate mail, stationery, office equipment, registers, and administrative systems.
- Assist with maintenance requests, safety inspections, facility bookings, and asset records.
- Support Principal functions including calendar management, meetings, and executive tasks.
- Maintain student information systems, including OneSchool data entry.
- Provide first aid support where trained and authorised.
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, families, and community members.
- Provide customer service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
