About this job
About the School:
James Nash State High School services the communities of Glenwood to the North, Kilkivan to the West, Amamoor to the South and Gympie to the East. As such we have a diversity of students with an underlying common thread of a connection to our rural surrounds and the associated values and beliefs. Set on the northern outskirts of Gympie, James Nash High was founded in 1977 and has a current enrolment of 1300 students expected to grow to nearly 1400 by 2025. Our school is committed to developing independent self-assured yet humble young men and women. We provide the learning opportunities for this to occur through a gradual release process across the 6 years of high school. The transition to adulthood from 12 year olds requires that we empower these young people to undertake safe risk taking, ensuring that they learn through their mistakes and develop an understanding of the need to be responsible for their actions and accountable for the outcomes.
