About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented accountant to provide the full finance function for the school. This hands-on role is part of our School’s Administration team, reporting to the Business Manager.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Process fortnightly payroll in line with Enterprise Agreement and legislative requirements
- Fulfil accounts payable function
- Manage accounts receivable, including the processing of billing and liaising with external fee payment provider
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations
- Prepare monthly management reports
- Assist with annual budget preparation and financial forecasting
- Ensure compliance with BAS and other regulatory obligations
- Assist with year-end financial reporting and audit processes
- Support grant applications, financial acquittals and funding compliance
- Contribute to governance, risk management and continuous improvement of financial systems

Key Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualification (minimum 3 years) in Accounting, Commerce or related discipline
- CPA or CA qualified, or working towards
- Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, compliance and internal controls
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- High level of integrity, discretion and professional judgement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Full working rights in Australia
- Experience in an independent or non-government school (desirable)
- Education-sector payroll experience (desirable)
Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain a current “not-prohibited” SA Working with Children Check and RRHAN-EC certificate prior to commencement of employment.
