Hume Anglican Grammar is a multi-campus co-educational Anglican Diocesan School offering education from Prep to Year 12 in the Northern growth corridor of Melbourne.
- Hume has an open enrolment policy so educates children from many faiths and with a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities.
- The School aspires to develop young people who are kind, creative, inquiring, socially and emotionally at ease, and who strive to achieve their personal best in all their endeavours.
- In 2025, the School will have 2,960 students and employ some 290 staff - 195 teaching and 95 non-teaching. The student enrolment at each campus is at Mt Ridley 1,448, Donnybrook 1,036 and Kalkallo 476.
- Ultimately at capacity, Hume will have 3,640 students (Mt Ridley 1,456, Donnybrook 1,596 and Kalkallo 588) with a corresponding cohort of teaching and general staff totalling 350 across its three campuses with plans for further expansion.

About the role:
Hume now calls for applications for the position of Academic Officer. This position is available either full-time or part-time and will be ongoing. This role is across Primary and Secondary at our growing Donnybrook campus and the role will commence at the start of 2025 academic year.
The Academic Officer plays a pivotal role in the organisation of academic matters within the School. This position has significant responsibility through providing administrative and organisational support to the Head of Teaching and Learning- Primary and Heads of Curriculum, to ensure the efficient management of curriculum operations.
The Academic Officer is recognised as an extremely organised and proficient coordinator of school operations. They have demonstrated consistent and efficient standards are achieved in ensuring effective organisation practice. They continue to seek ways to improve their own practice and to progress operational efficiencies. They are skilled at organising projects, planning activities and managing information.
The Academic Officer supports and models the School’s values and Christian ethos when dealing with all stakeholders. With high level relationship skills, they will serve as an outstanding ambassador for the School, promoting its policies and exemplify its standards.
Requirements of the Role:
- Current Working with Children Check
- Outstanding organisational capability supporting academic administration with the ability to meet deadlines and anticipate time pressures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team
- Personal sense of initiative and willingness to ensure the efficient support of curriculum operations
- High-level ICT skills i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint & Outlook
- Experience with database management systems
- Support for the educational culture and academic ethos of the School
- Previous experience in a similar role
