Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child's educational journey?

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Blackpool from September. This role will involve providing dedicated support to a pupil in Key Stage 1, helping them to access learning, develop socially, and thrive within the classroom environment.

The Role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide individual support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies.
  • Support the child's academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents where appropriate.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience supporting children with SEN, either in a school, nursery, care, or support setting.
  • Is patient, resilient, and able to build positive relationships with children.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
  • Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Possesses an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
