At Bloum, we’re on a mission to help students on their growth journey from all angles holistically.
In recent decades, it’s become clear that students’ academic learning, mental health, and wellbeing are intrinsically connected. There is a symbiotic relationship where mental health affects academic performance, and academic performance affects mental health.
For example, a student with high self-esteem and a strong sense of belonging feels safe and comfortable at school. They therefore take more learning risks, experience higher learning engagement, and achieve better academic results.
Conversely, an anxious and worried student doesn’t feel as comfortable in the school environment. They may be reluctant to take necessary learning risks, become distracted, struggle to concentrate, and worry about what others think of them. They act in various ways to try and manage these scenarios, but their overall performance declines, and that decline induces further mental health challenges.
We’ve put together this webinar to help schools build solutions to these challenges. You’ll learn about:
- How academic learning and student wellbeing are linked
- The factors that contribute to the student experience at school
- The role of belonging and safety in supporting students’ learning and wellbeing
- How to use the student growth platform to support student wellbeing and mental health
Understanding the complexities of dynamic student wellbeing factors can prove challenging for even the most dedicated and responsive schools. The webinar will therefore include a demonstration on how modern technology makes supporting student wellbeing much easier, with a spotlight on the student growth platform Bloum.
For example, staff often notice those students whose responses are externalised, but they overlook students who internalise their responses and become overly compliant. Schools must therefore access and leverage up-to-date data that identifies changes as they occur, such as via Bloum, allowing staff members to respond quickly before student mental health difficulties can escalate.
Develop a better understanding of:
- How academic learning and student wellbeing are linked
- The factors that contribute to the student experience at school
- The role of belonging and safety in supporting students' learning and wellbeing
- How student growth platforms can support student wellbeing and mental health
