Adapting the Remix method for your classroom Presenter:
Spencer Davis (CCGS) and Melanie Thorpe (Carmel School)
This session will explore the idea of intertextuality through the construction of a ‘remix’ text. Not only is this exciting and lots of fun for students and teachers, the session will consider how this method fits within the curriculum and how it is an effective form of assessment.
Programming for Year 7 English Presenter:
Melanie Hindley (Hale School)
This workshop walks members through the rationale and process of curriculum design in the English Learning Area and aims to provide a practical process for colleagues to write their own engaging and relevant units of work that 'tick all the boxes'. While the design process modeled in this session uses a Year 7 programme as an exemplar, the process can be used for programmes from Yr 7-10. The workshop will also showcase another of the units of work commissioned by the DoE from ETAWA.
