Digital Literacies in EAL SIG is a new initiative supported by VicTESOL. It is a group for members of TESOL associations in Australia who are interested in digital literacies and their inclusion in EAL learning. Facilitated by Dr Katrina Tour (Monash University) and A/P Melissa Barnes (La Trobe University), the group aims to support practitioners across different sectors (early childhood, primary, secondary, adult) through a range of focused activities

Are you interested in digital literacies in EAL settings?

Digital Literacies in EAL SIG is a new initiative supported by VicTESOL. It is a group for members of TESOL associations in Australia who are interested in digital literacies and their inclusion in EAL learning. Facilitated by Dr Katrina Tour (Monash University) and A/P Melissa Barnes (La Trobe University), the group aims to support practitioners across different sectors (early childhood, primary, secondary, adult) through a range of focused activities including but not limited to:

  • seminars, workshops, presentations
  • discussion and reading groups
  • sharing resources, experiences and best practices
  • collaborative contribution to professional journals and newsletters

Join us for the first SIG meeting on Wednesday 22 March 4-5pm. The event will include an introduction of the SIG, followed by a discussion and collaborative planning of the SIG events and activities for 2023. There will also be opportunities to meet other educators interested in digital technologies and network during this event.

Joining the Digital Literacies in EAL SIG will also give you access to a private discussion page on Facebook where you can share ideas and resources, and collaborate with your peers between meetings.
