Choose, read, succeed: Partnerships in practice

Date November 24, 2017 - November 24, 2017
Time 9:00am - 5:00pm

National and international research tells us that reading helps students gain better results.

We also know that a positive reading environment and the freedom to choose is key to reading enjoyment and success.

Those of us working in school libraries, however, understand that choice can also be a barrier to students’ reading.

How do we enable students to choose a book that they like?

Choosing a book that suits you is a skill that, like any other, needs to be learnt, practised and refined.

At this full day conference, you will meet authors and practitioners as they explore and share narrative in all its formats, gender and diversity, recent research, genre preferences and programs and strategies that work.

What a wonderful choice! Join us on 24 November to celebrate choice, diversity and student success and to acknowledge the SLAV Award Recipients for 2017.
