The author of 15 plays including Hotel Sorrento and Inheritance, Hannie Rayson’s work expresses her deep curiosity about contemporary Australian life.
Her plays explore how we live within various communities and what matters to us – the political, ethical and moral choices we face.
In this session she will talk about the ways that theatre, with its unique capacity to blend the inner life of its characters with their public selves, can express ideas and shape our social responsibilities.
She will explain how it is necessary to seduce an audience to make them think about the society we are all responsible for shaping.
