Yakanarra Community School

The school is situated within Yakanarra Community, which is approximately 120 kilometres south-west of Fitzroy Crossing, on the edge of the St Georges Ranges. The current site was selected because of its traditional and sacred significance to the Walmajarri people. Yakanarra Community School is an independent school, established in 1991, that caters for children from pre-Kindy through to Year 10. The school is small but well maintained and resourced. All classrooms have access to I-pads, the internet, interactive whiteboards, and a recently upgraded music and band room rehearsal space.
