Wyalong Public School is a small rural school in the Central West of New South Wales, just east of West Wyalong. It has a current enrolment of 58 students, including 12 students who identify as Aboriginal. Multistage classes areâ¯led by a Teaching Principal, andâ¯eight teaching staff and are well supportedâ¯by a dynamic admin team. The⯠cohesive staff are professionallyâ¯supported by an Instructional Leader through the Early Action for Success initiative. The school is committed to evidence-based teaching and learning programs and has a strong focus on working in triads to ensure collective efficacy.
Wyalong Public School is an integral member of the Rural Innovative Educational Network (RIEN) of small schools. This network supports collaboration between schools in learning, sport and social integrated experiences, as well as teaching, learning and leadership. It works productively with West Wyalong High School in an authentic transition program for stage 3 students.
The school is in its second year of implementing
their strategic directions of Learning, Teaching and Leading, and are currently
acting on reflection from the External Validation in 2018. The school works
closely with the parents andâ¯community to ensure it is responsive to the
diverse needs of the students and families. It offers a wide curriculum to
ensure students are prepared for a changing world.
