Westdale Public School is situated within the New England network in Tamworth NSW. Westdale houses modern facilities in a sustainable, aesthetic and active learning environment. Our enrolment is currently 485 students in 22 classes, including a Behaviour support class. Aboriginal enrolments remain at close to 30%. The mobility rate is significant with about 30 new students enrolling in Years K–6 and about the same leaving each year. All students participate in quality learning experiences in an environment that is nurturing, inclusive and responsive to individual needs. Our positive school culture fosters lifelong learning for both staff and students so that we all continue to grow in confidence, knowledge and understanding. Our vision is to provide a quality, holistic education to prepare all students for a future in an ever-changing world. Westdale has a comprehensive student support program, with equitable access for all students, K to 6, to improve literacy and numeracy skills. The PBL core values of being proud, safe and having high expectations are embedded in our school life so students become respectful and resilient citizens. Students, staff and the school community have unified expectations of behaviour and learning. The community is diverse, yet harmonious, and celebrates an ability to ensure a complete learning experience for every student. The school recognises the valuable contribution our families make to school life. Westdale continues to forge strong partnerships with community groups through programs in student leadership, student welfare, music tuition, sport, cultural and environmental education and acknowledges these partnerships are fundamental to future success. Westdale Public School develops confident, well balanced young adults who value education, have a strong sense of community and are well-prepared for the future.
