Wee Waa Public School is situated in a rural and remote area in the north west of New South Wales, and is part of the Namoi Principals Network. It serves the community of Wee Waa and the surrounding rural district. Current enrolment is 135 students with more than 50% identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and more than 20% of the total school population have identified additional education needs. We currently have 8 classes with a projection of 7 classes in 2020. The school has a mix of early career and experienced staff and a range of support services. Wee Waa Public school is an EAfS school and we have an Instructional Leader 3 days per week.
Wee Waa Public School attracts 50% rental subsidy, 2 incentive leave days per annum and heat week at the beginning of the school year. There is a very strong community involvement with the P&C. The school is known for its sporting successes and cultural achievements at local eisteddfods. The schoolâs current strategic directions are Engaged and resilient learners, Educating for the 21st Century and Positive trust and respect.
