Wallacia Public School is a small school located in a rural setting in the town of Wallacia. The school was established in 1856 and today caters for many second and third generation students whose parents and grandparents proudly wore the school colours. Students' abilities and talents are well catered for in a wide range of curriculum areas that are relevant to each individual's stage of learning. There are currently 65 students enrolled at the school of which 2% are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and 19% are EAL/D students. The curriculum is comprehensive and innovative with a strong emphasis on supporting every learner to improve in literacy, numeracy, creative arts and sport. There is a strong focus on student wellbeing and the differentiation of curriculum to suit the learning needs of all students.
All members of the school community are welcomed and encouraged to be actively involved within the school operations. The school community is supportive and has a very enthusiastic and dedicated P&C Association who actively work in partnership with the school. The school and community work closely together in partnership to support shared goals. The school has a highly proactive and trusting environment where student learning is the focus for decision making priorities. Wallacia Public School is an active leader and member of the Penrith Valley Small School's Network and the Glenmore Park Learning Community. These links with the surrounding small schools provide enhanced capability to share opportunities and experiences as a broader network for capacity building of both students and staff.
