Victoria Avenue Public School

Victoria Avenue Public School is situated in Concord West next to Bicentennial Park. The school has been steadily growing since opening in 2015 and currently has 285 enrolments, 70% of which are EAL/D learners from 44 different language backgrounds. Victoria Avenue Public School has 11 mainstream classes and 5 Inclusive (Support) classes for students with disabilities. The school motto is Include, Inspire, Innovate which underpins and drives the strategic directions of the school plan. Teachers have been trained in utilising quality EAL/D pedagogy and Universal Design for Learning practices to ensure that all students are able to access the curriculum and are supported to reach their individualised learning goals. This year the school has a focus on data and aims to refine how it is collected and the ways in which data is used to effectively inform teaching and learning.

Victoria Avenue Public School is situated within a unique community facility, the Victoria Avenue Community Precinct. This precinct includes a Child Care Centre, an Early Childhood Health Centre, an Out of School Hours Care Centre and Victoria Avenue Public School. Victoria Avenue Community Precinct is situated adjacent to Sydney Olympic Park which includes Bicentennial Park, the Badu mangroves and the Narrawang wetlands. Parents have high expectations and are very involved and supportive of the school.
