Toukley Public
School has an enrolment of 586 students, including 145 Aboriginal students
(25%). The school has a designated Aboriginal preschool which offers 20 places
each day, in addition to three multi-categorical classes to support students
with additional learning needs. The school enjoys close working partnerships
with parents and the wider community and aims to continually build on positive
partnerships with the Parents and Citizens' Association (P&C), the Muru
Bulbi Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and the Wallarah Learning
Community. The school receives additional equity funding to support students
from low socio-economic backgrounds and students from Aboriginal backgrounds
and has a strong focus on quality teaching, student wellbeing and the broader
engagement of students, supported by significant literacy and numeracy programs
and Positive Behaviour for Learning. The school is involved in the Early Action
for Success Initiative. The staff are highly skilled and dedicated
professionals, including early career and experienced teachers.
