Toomelah Public School has an enrolment of 44 students, with 100% of students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school, located just outside Boggabilla and close to Goondiwindi, has well maintained grounds and is one the Connected Communities Schools in New South Wales. The School has a strong focus on student wellbeing, community engagement and quality teaching and learning.
As a pivotal role as the Executive Principal of Toomelah Public School you will be required to foster a culture of high expectations and a shared sense of responsibility for student engagement, learning, development and success. You will engage the Aboriginal community in the development and delivery of responsive and culturally relevant teaching and learning programs to improve student outcomes. You will work in co-leadership and partnership with the local School Reference Group (SRG), the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) and the local community to achieve the key accountabilities of the role.
Connected Communities is a strategy to drive improved educational outcomes for Aboriginal children and young people. The strategy positions schools as community hubs that broaden the influence of the community and school leadership in the delivery of key services that support children and young people from birth through school into further training, study and employment. The Executive Principal will work in partnership with the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and the local community to achieve the key accountabilities of the role.
This is a 3 year temporary appointment with the possibility of extension for a further 2 years.
