Thurgoona Public School is a welcoming and inclusive environment that has a student population of 598 which equates to 24 classes. The school is surrounded by native bushland and is situated on the northern outskirts of Albury near the NSW/ Victorian border. Thurgoona Public School has a team of enthusiastic and dedicated staff who are committed to working collaboratively to provide quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of diverse learners. The school motto is ‘learn to live and live to learn’ and the vision of our school, as shared by our community, focuses on equipping our students with skills and dispositions to become successful lifelong learners. Key priority areas centre on; mentoring and coaching staff, embedding the Curiosity and Powerful Learning strategies within our practice, and collecting and analysing data to differentiate the curriculum. The school is proud of the strong partnership that exists between the school and the Parents and Citizens Association.
