The Bidgee School is a School for Specific Purpose (SSP) with a current enrolment of 49 students. It is an educational setting providing specialist support to students impacted by complex trauma and other mental health conditions. The school provides intensive support that focuses on education/academic intervention and wellbeing/emotional regulation for students from Years K-12. The Bidgee School is an innovative school with specialised teaching staff utilising knowledge of trauma and how it affects the brain/body system, along with the latest research on the neurobiology of trauma to inform a state-of-the-art wellbeing program. This contributes positively to our students' wellbeing and capacity to learn. All students at The Bidgee School remain a shared enrolment with their local mainstream school with varying levels of negotiated transition dependant on individual needs. We work collaboratively with parents, carers, government and non-government agencies, community and mainstream schools to ensure student success. The school's current strategic directions focus on: high expectations and improved student outcomes, student engagement and wellbeing and staff professional learning.
