Sydney Technical High School is an academically selective school for boys with approximately 919 students. Entry is on merit through the NSW selective schools test prior to Year 7 and the school also accepts some additional gifted and high potential students in Year 11. There are very high levels of HSC achievement, commitment to studies and striving for personal best. The school draws on students from different parts of Sydney who represent many primary school backgrounds. Students have a strong sense of belonging with high attendance and retention rates. They also proudly represent many cultural backgrounds (90% NESB). The school reflects a strong sense of inclusion and civic responsibility, developing student engagement and mature relationships that build leadership and social capital. Sydney Technical High School has a close relationship with parents/carers and a community highly invested in the wellbeing and achievement of their sons. Wellbeing, including the physical, emotional and psychological development of young men, plays a central role in the school’s culture and goals.
