The Island’s spectacular headlands offer views of marine life including dolphins, manta rays, turtles and humpback whales, as well as kilometers of white sandy beaches. Fresh water springs and lakes and magnificent hiking tracks can be found inland, with many sites having special significance to the Quandamooka Aboriginal People.
Discover Straddie’s Aboriginal heritage with cultural workshops, and study koalas and kangaroos in the bush and on the beaches. There’s no time to be bored with activities like 4WDrive adventure tours, sand boarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing lessons, sea kayaking, and fishing. Or why not try beach yoga, or barefoot bowling?
Groups are spoilt for choice when it comes to camping options. Straddie Camping offers campgrounds in each of the three townships, with modern amenities and undercover camp kitchens, as well as 500 ‘back-to-nature’ beach camping sites.
