The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation’s vision is to see all Australian children have access to pleasurable food education and form positive food habits for life.
In an effort to realise this vision the Foundation has opened up its range of educational resources, professional development and support to all educators.
Now educators from the early years learning sector, primary and secondary schools can all access the Foundation’s extensive range of resources, Kitchen Garden Classroom membership, and face-to-face and online professional development.
The Foundation’s pleasurable food education model is designed to be integrated with learning frameworks and the Australian Curriculum, and supports learning across a range of subject areas.
As well as working with schools and early years learning centres, the Foundation also collaborates with tertiary institutions, local government and health professionals to help develop food education programs and training.
The support and expertise provided by the Foundation draws on its 15 years of experience helping children learn the joys of growing and cooking fresh seasonal, delicious food.
There are already more than 1000 schools and early years learning centres across Australia engaged in the Foundation’s pleasurable food education programs, and that number continues to grow.
