St Ives High School is a comprehensive coeducational high school with a current enrolment of approximately 1050 students. Forty percent of students are from a non-English speaking background and the gender balance is roughly two-thirds boys and one-third girls. The school has a hearing support unit, a long-standing gifted and talented program and a strong focus on technology, with a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program operating across all year groups. A major infrastructure project, currently underway, will see the development of an indoor two-court sports stadium and the refurbishment of the school’s CAPA (Creative And Performing Arts) and Industrial Arts block. The school’s parent body has high expectations for student involvement and achievement. Mathematics results are exceptional in domestic and international mathematics competitions and in the HSC. The school is held in high regard in the community.
