Rous Public School is a TP2 school with an enrolment of 87 students.  Its vision is “an inclusive 21st Century education”. Rous Public School has high expectations for students to become successful capable learners, with a commitment to nurture, guide, inspire and challenge every student. All staff encourage students to take ownership of their learning and to see learning as a life-long process.

It is a vibrant school that possesses strong collaborative links with its community focused on leading school improvement. Strategies to achieve this goal include specialised programs catering for a variety of learning needs, collaborative and professional teachers. There is a long standing partnership with Southern Cross University

Rous Public School is situated on the Alstonville Plateau. The school maintains strong links and partnerships with the surrounding community, which values consultation, creativity and collaboration. There is ongoing professional learning commitment to the Southern Cross Community of Small Schools. Priorities include student centred leadership, developing differentiated and personalised learning and support programs, excellence in literacy and numeracy and a dynamic creative arts program.
