Rooty Hill High School is a large (1100) comprehensive 7-12 secondary school in western Sydney serving a culturally and linguistically diverse community including 60 students of Aboriginal and Torres Strait background. The school launched its first RAP in June 2019. The school’s innovative strategies and programs have been widely recognised in case studies and in the School Excellence Framework validation. The current school plan is focused on driving subject based signature pedagogies, expansive education through the development of capabilities and dispositions and collaboration, creativity and adaptability. Evidence informed practice is a cornerstone of the school’s cultural, strategic and assessment practices. Leveraging student agency by working with students to understand their own learning progress and achievement is a long term project supported by personalised learning, higher order professional practice and strategic partnering. The school offers a wide curriculum that includes STEM electives and a commitment to VET. It organises teaching and learning into universal, targeted and intensive learning experiences through innovative curricular, co-curricular and extra- curricular opportunities.

Please note: The senior school commences classes at 7.30 am.
