Camps and accommodation / Last updated 1 year ago

Roonka River Adventure Park near Blanchetown in the Riverland of South Australia has you covered for camps for years 3 to 10 with land and water-based activities galore, and retreats for years 11 and 12… and even rowing camps!

Nestled right on the banks of the mighty Murray River, about an hour and forty minutes north-east of Adelaide, Roonka has a range of facilitated outcome-based 2-night/3-day school camp packages, with highlights in every season.

Choose either bunkhouse accommodation (sleeps up to 58 across six rooms), or tent camping for larger or more adventurous groups (or a combination!).

Facilitated activities range from survival skills (including campfires and camp cooking) to yabbying, geocaching and compass navigation. Add in aquatic activities in warmer months, such as raft building, water relays, waterslide and ziplining across our private billabong!

Roonka is proudly owned and operated by Scouts SA - leaders in experiential learning and youth development activities- and is part of the Camps & Adventure Parks team, along with Woodhouse Adventure Park in the Adelaide Hills and Camp Nyroca on the Eyre Peninsula. Each site offers bunk-style group accommodation, camping and outdoor adventure, ideal for school groups.

Select an option to suit your budget and requirements, from DIY to fully facilitated and catered. Facilities include large indoor activity spaces and fully-equipped commercial kitchens.

Sharing your passion for creating equity in a child’s critical developmental years, with a primary goal of giving every student the opportunity to have a fun school camp experience, Roonka invites you to get in touch to discuss achieving your outdoor educational goals. Through a shared love of the outdoors and experience-based activities, Roonka contributes to better communities and a better world by creating environments that build group development, promote self-growth and create connections to nature.

All profit is returned to Scouts SA to help young South Australians achieve their personal best in all areas, including leadership, resilience, confidence and responsible independence.
